The Pursuit of Happyness
Saturday, April 21st, 2007It’s Meme’s fave movie. Sweet and touching. Some parts of the dialogue are interesting, I think, hehe.
[Chris Gardner to Christopher]
“You got a dream, you gotta protect it. Don’t ever let someone tell you, you can’t do something. Not even your Dad. You want something? Go get it. Period.”
[Narration - Chris Gardner]
“And it was at that time that I thought about Thomas Jefferson writing that Declaration of Independence. Him saying that we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I thought about how he knew to put the ‘pursuit’ in there, like no one can actually have happiness. We can only pursue it.”
My moral of the story?
Each day, I pass “happyness” by. But sometimes I end up not noticing any. See the laughter that we share everyday? Happiness is there, in every single second of it. My happiness is a gift. Happiness can never been taken for granted. Once it’s taken for granted, soon it’s leaving you.
The last few days, during this exam period, I got a new study group and dinner mates. Have been so fun and enjoyable. Have a lot of things to learn. Have meaningful things to share with. Mechu, Pidychu, Arinchu, Depichu, Bobo, and Bejo…I ‘m thankful…Happy mugging!
[last narration line]
This part of my life… this part right here? This is called "happyness."
Yes, “happyness”; with “y”, not “i”
